So things happened...

It's been a while since I last wrote, but there hasn't really been much to say in the meanwhile anyways. But now I do have things to say! I can now officially say that I'm going to Germany...I booked the plane tickets!! A huge thanks to Tzell Park Travel Agency: you made things super easy and straightforward. I luckily managed to get seats with Lisa on the middle flight, so we're both pretty happy about that. If anybody has any good methods for downloading full movies onto either USB flash drives or directly onto a computer somehow I'd love to hear it.

My flights are pretty straightforward:
Depart Pittsburgh for Washington Dulles at 2:15pm and arrive at 3:30pm. Layover until 5:40pm, then fly overnight to Munich arriving at 7:50am local time. The overnight flight will be super helpful for hopefully avoiding some of the jet lag I expect to have!

Coming back with Lisa, we depart Munich at 12:30pm and arrive at 3:25pm local time in Newark. When we land, we'll feel like it's 9:25pm back in Germany. Yikes! Then we have a layover until 7:00pm and arrive at 8:45 pm in Pittsburgh. At this point, we'll feel like it's almost three in the morning. That'll be really fun.

Orientation meetings have begun, and now everything is suddenly very real. Part of me feels like I should be doing more hardcore German practice, and I'll get to it eventually, but I try to keep up by reading the news in German, texting Lexi and Lisa, and listening to some German pop music. Hopefully soon, Lisa, myself, and our families will be planning a Skype call so that we can meet each other!

In other news, the AP test is coming soon and I really should be practicing writing essays and recording responses verbally in the format presented on the test, so I should probably buckle down and do that during my 11th period study hall where my formal German class used to be: the test is only a month away. Another big thank you once again to Frau Duschek for your immesurable patience, your help is always appreciated! I'll be coming with more essays and more conversation for you soon :-)

That's all for now, keep checking back!
